About the speaker:
Dr. Hye-Kyung Lee is a Reader in Cultural Policy at the Department of Culture, Media and Creative Industries at the King’s College in London, UK. She has worked on cultural policy, arts subsidy, cultural industries, cultural fandom as well as marketing and is interested in dynamic relations between the cultural sector, the state and the market.
Her recent publications include Cultural Policies in East Asia (Palgrave Macmillan 2014), Asian Cultural Flows (Springer 2018), Cultural Policy in South Korea: Making a New Patron State (Routledge 2019), and the Routledge Handbook of Cultural and Creative Industries in Asia (2019). She is also a co-editor of Cultural Trends.
